A man in Brisbane, Australia has attempted to skip on paying his restaurant bill by escaping into the ocean.
Terry Peck allegedly enjoyed a substantial meal at Omeros Bros Seafood Restaurant, including lobster, octopus, vodka and beer, totalling AUS$621 before stealing a six-pack of beer from another nearby restaurant and then diving into the Gold Coast surf to avoid paying.
As The Brisbane Times reports, Peck was apprehended by police officers on a jet ski concerned for the intoxicated local man’s safety. He is due to appear in court in May.
Peck has since claimed that the lobster was overcooked and the restaurant should be apologising to him for the "overpriced" food he was served.
