Michelin Guide for Shanghai 2017

The first ever Michelin guide for Shanghai was launched today with 26 restaurants gaining michelin stars in what is the company’s first edition in mainland China.

In a surprising and rare move T'ang Court went straight in at the top with Michelin’s highest accolade of three stars. The restaurant is the sister of T’ang Court in Hong Kong which also currently holds three stars.

In the two star category there was another surprise as Canton 8 became one of the world’s cheapest two-starred restaurants in the world with a lunch available as little as 48 yuan, about $7.

Seven restaurants in total were awarded two stars and and 18 restaurants award their first star. Below is a full list of those restaurants to receive stars in the Michelin Guide for Shanghai 2017.
