The World's Largest Gingerbread Village

If you've got a taste for gingerbread head to the New York Hall of Science in Queens, NY before 16 January to get your fill of what is probably "The World's Largest Gingerbread Village."

Dedicated world record breaker and gingerbread baker Jon Lovitch has been hard at work once again, having spent an entire year, since last Christmas, re-creating the annual spectacular display of around 1200 miniature homes made entirely out of edible gingerbread.

In total, the project weighs in at around 600 pounds of gingerbread, 4,700 pounds of icing and 800 pounds of candy, report abc7NY, made from ingredients that Lovitch manages to scoop up in the sales following Christmas.

Having held the Guinness World Record for the "largest gingerbread village" annually since 2013 it looks like there's no sign of him losing the title anytime soon.

Don't miss the gingerbread house giveaway on 16 Jan.
