If there is an event that needs no introduction, it's Vinitaly. The most important wine event in Italy as well as being the largest in the world - returning to Verona, Italt from 9 to 12 April 2017.
The location as always is Veronafiere, which will house companies, manufacturers and enthusiasts for four days of intense wine tasting. In 2016 4,120 exhibitors from 27 countries participated in an area covering 90,000 square meters. This 51st edition promises to be even richer than before: in addition to the excellence of Italian wines, for the first time ever there will also be wine makers from Andorra, Kosovo and Japan exhibiting.
What's on at Vinitaly 2017
As the wine tasting is always the most attractive part of the event and Vinitaly offers indepth training. Daily lessons, laboratories and workshops will take place on the world of wine, from technical seminars on climate change to historical Italian vineyards and exploring the great Italian reds, from the big red Sardinian style in comparison to Valpolicella, all conducted by leading Italian experts. Don't miss the vertical "Back in time with Sassicaia, the forgotten years" discovering vintages from 1992. International classes include native Russian wines, Spanish wines and South African wines.
When hunger strikes in between tastings, take a trip to Ristorante d'Autore, where Italian chefs, including Roberto Conti and Daniele D'Alberto, will showcase their recipes in combination with Italy's finest sparkling wine, Franciacorta.
