A Polish sirloin has been named as the world's best steakat the third annual World Steak Challenge in London.
ABP Poland's grain-fed, 29-month, 14-day matured sirloin, from the Limousin Cross breed beat 119 other steaks from 17 countries across 25 breeds in total to claim the title.
Last year's winners, Australia's Jack's Creek, won best fillet for their grain-fed Wagyu/Angus, while ABP also claimed World's Best Rib Eye. World's Best Grass-Fed went to England's Martin Meats for their Longhorn Rib Eye.
17 gold medals were awarded in total, with Ireland topping the medals table with three golds. You can see a full list of winners here.
Of course, these kinds of competitions should be taken with a pinch of salt, especially as there are no entries from Japan. Many steak lovers would argue that you couldn't possibly have a list of the world's best steaks that excludes Japan.
