Here's a great little illustrated guide to place settings around the world from author and illustrator Julia Rothman, to help you navigate global dining etiquette. Taken from the third book in her Food Anatomy series, it features instructions on place settings in the US, Japan, Thailand, Korea, India and Nepal.
There are some interesting facts to take stock of, for instance why you should never insert chopsticks into a bowl of rice vertically and a useful guide for eating with your hands in certain countries – not as straightforward as you would think.
The book, which covers everything from the history of food to global street foods, is written in collaboration with journalist Rachel Wharton.
