Extinction, the Clash of Nature | Gallery

Born in Rome in 1985, Marco Schifano is an Italian photographer whose work gives composition a key role: his recent photographic activity foresees a long and introductive research of interconnected elements, put together and hence shot.

Today Fine Dining Lovers presents you Extinction series: a food-inspired photographic project that clearly features the conflict between animal and vegetable kingdom. All the elements (fruit, vegetables, animals, etc.) are used to go over the pictorial tradition of still life, with images on the threshold between fact and fiction.

As the artist states “[…] you have to be very quick to catch the moment. Working with animals is like that: they are alive, and the unexpected events make photography so special”.

Together with some images from the Extinction series, in the gallery at the top of the page you can enjoy some shots from the brand new Ballet project: a dreamlike series that features rare and weird fish species, somehow suspended in time and space.

Marco Schifano’s Ballet and Max’s Brides series (a tribute to Max Ernst’s Attirement of the Bride) will be displayed in Milan at Studio Giangaleazzo Visconti. The exhibition is open until 24th March 2017.
