Noma Mexico is Confirmed - Here's All the Details

After rumours circulating fir over a month René Redzepi has officially confirmed he will be opening a Noma Pop-up in Mexico.

The pop-up, which will open in Tulum, will take place inside what Redzepi describes as an “outdoor open-air restaurant” that will be “hot, steaming and unpredictable.”

Noma Mexico will open April 12 to May 28 2017, serving dinner five days a week, Wednesday to Sunday. The price, which includes menu, beverage pairing, water and tea/coffee, will total $750 U.S including tax.

Now for getting an actual ticket. The bookings for reservations will open on December 6 at 10am EST and will be made through a dedicated page on the Noma website.

After similar projects in Japan and Australia, Redzepi is making a habit of taking his restaurant crew on tour. It actually makes perfect sense as 2017 is also earmarked for Noma’s move to a brand new relocation.

Speaking about the move, Redzepi said: “I consider it to be my adopted home, one filled with almost a decade of cherished memories from vacations with my family. The place that I dream about. Home to one of the most exciting cuisines I have ever tasted: as old as time and yet so relevant. Full of ingredients I never knew existed. This cooking inspires the team and I constantly here in Copenhagen. It is safe to say that there is already a touch of influence from Mexico in the food at Noma.”

He also said a crew have been in Mexico researching for the past six months, “we searched to find that special chile, to understand the seafood, to taste just a few of the infinite variations of mole, and to find inspiration in the vast and wonderful culture.”
