Massimo Bottura is Coming to Australia

Massimo Bottura, owner of Osteria Francescana in Italy, will host a special one-off dinner in Australia in conjunction with the perishable food rescue organisation, OzHarvest.

Taking place on April 2nd as part of activities for the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, the dinner will be cooked by nine different chefs will set about transforming food destined for the trash into a wonderful meal.

Tickets for the exclusive dinner will rock in at 1000 Australian Dollars, but proceeds are going towards helping OzHarvest continue its work in connecting food establishments and their excess food waste with around 900 different charities that help distribute it to those in need.

Other chefs cooking alongside Bottura include: Rob Cockerill (Bennelong), Monty Koludrovic (Icebergs and The Dolphin), Josh Niland (Saint Peter), Matt Stone (Oakridge), James Viles (biota), O Tama Carey (chef/writer), Aaron Ward (sixpenny), Clayton Wells (Automata) and Duncan Welgemoed (Africola).

The dinner will take place inside OzHarvest, Sydney, which will be transformed into a fine dining space by restaurant designer George Livissianis. The space will also be full of art from artists such as John Olsen, Stephen Ormandy and Chris Antico who will donate pieces to be auctioned as part of the event.

Guests will also be invited to take part in an intimate talk with Bottura about his Food for Soul project.
