Yes, he’s back. Nusret Gökçe, the Turkish restaurateur otherwise known as #SaltBae who was seemingly everywhere on the internet at the start of the year, is back with a new viral video.
In it we see him catching a piece of beef in the air on his knife, trimming and cutting it, and then pounding it to create carpaccio, before oiling and seasoning it in his own strange style.
We thought he’d been a bit quiet of late, but obviously he was just planning his next move, which includes opening restaurants in London and New York.
The venue for the New York branch of his Nusr-et chain of steakhouses will be the site of the now closed China Grill in the CBS Building on 60 W. 53rd St, Eater reports. No word on the London location yet.
Anyway, the new video has racked up 7.5 million views in three days, so it seems that the Salt Bae craze is showing no signs of abating yet.
