Cold Brew Coffee: This is The Easiest Way To Make Cold Brew Coffee

If you've ever tried making iced coffeeat home you may have been disappointed by the results. That's because you probably used coffee that was brewed earlier in the day and allowed to cool down. The flavor is just not the same. Enter cold brew coffee.

Cold brew coffee is a simple concoction of water and coffee grounds steeped at room temperature overnight then strained. Sounds pretty easy, right? The problem is waiting that long. When you want an iced coffee you want it now, not tomorrow.

Well, friend, with a little patience you can be enjoying great-tasting homemade iced coffee any time of day. First, you have to commit to making cold brew coffee. But, no worries, we've got the easiest method ever that doesn't require fancy equipment or any complicated steps. Ready?

How To Make Cold Brew Coffee

For the easiest cold brew coffee ever you'll need:

  • a French press
  • 2/3 cups of coffee grounds
  • 3 cups of filtered water

Place the coffee grounds in the French press. Gently pour filtered water over the coffee grounds. Stir with a spoon. Place the lid on the French press but do not press down. Allow to sit overnight at room temperature. In the morning, simply press down the plunger and pour the cold brew coffee into a mason jar.

Tip: you can place a strainer over the mason jar to catch any stray coffee grounds.

This cold brew coffee recipe is enough to make three 8-oz iced coffees. It'll keep nicely for a week if stored in an airtight container in the fridge.

To make iced coffee simply placed desired amount of cold brew coffee in a glass, add ice and top with milk. Sweeten as desired. Dulce de leche, agave and stevia are all great options.
