8 Hilarious Chef Cameos

If you're a fan of the show Master of None featuring Aziz Ansari, about a food-obsessed and unlucky in love actor, you'll probably know that the new season sees Anzari's character Dev relocating to Modena, Italy for two episodes, to become a pasta-maker. During one scene, Dev and his buddy Arnold are treated to a meal in the wine cellar of Osteria Francescana, with chef-owner Massimo Bottura on hand. Watch the trailer below.

This got us thinking about other chef cameos in TV shows, where the chefs play themselves, albeit in a fictional setting. Here are some of our favourites.

Ramsay is as seemingly open to cameos, as he is to opening restaurants, having appeared previously on Extras and The Simpsons (see below). We particularly like his turn on New Girl though, when he turns counsellor to Jess with his own brand of tough love – "Scallops aren't for liars." You can see Ramsay is really trying here.

Bourdain turned up in an episode of The Simpsons called The Food Wife, alongside Mario Batali (bink and you'll miss him) and Gordon Ramsay. Marge, in an attempt to be a cool mum, starts a food blog with Bart and Lisa called 'The Three Mouthkateers' after bumping into a group of foodies in a restaurant. The chefs then appear to Marge in a nightmare.

Okay, so not exactly hilarious, but it's quite fun to see these four chefs together, awkwardly waiting to be seated at our protagonist's restaurant in the New Orleans neighbourhood of Treme – also the name of the show.

Here's a downright bizarre one, where we're introduced to a karaoke-loving Morimoto, before the cops go rooting round for ballistics evidence in the fish delivery.
