16 Dishes from Brazil's Newly Starred Restaurants

The Michelin Guide to Brazil 2017 has just been released and though Alex Atala'sD.O.M. remains the only two star (and still no three star restaurants), there were three new additions to the one star club to get excited about.

Laguiole, housed in Rio de Janeiro's museum of modern art – the Guide only covers Rio and Sao Paulo – serves contemporary Brazilian fare with European touches, and is only open for lunch, while at Sao Paulo's Picchi, chef Pier Paolo Picchi draws on his heritage with a classical Italian menu.

Joining them is Rio's Oro, where chef Felipe Bronze and sommelier wife Ceci Aldalia were first awarded a star back in 2015, regaining it this year for the restaurant's contemporary Brazilian and highly technical style.

Here then, are a selection of dishes from the restaurants to drool over, while you're busy planning a trip to Brazil.
