It's been an anxious wait for young chefs around the world, but the moment has arrived when we can finally announce the names of the 210 lucky young chefs and semi-finalists who will begin their journey in the much anticipated S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018!

A big congratulations to all those young chefs who have been selected to compete in what was a rigorous application process which saw 35% more valid candidates than last year.
Each young chef regional semi-finalist was carefully picked by ALMA -The International School of Italian Cuisine, and according to each individual's signature dish were assessed with the same five criteria outlined in the Golden Rules: ingredients, skills, genius, beauty and message.
Next Steps
The semi-finalists will now proceed to the Local Competitions 2017 phase of the worldwide talent competition, which will unfold over the next six months, finishing in December 2017.
A total of 21 local competitions will be organised around the world where the young chef semi-finalists will go head to head cooking their signature dish for a panel of local chef judges.
The local jury will select the best young chef to represent the region on the global stage who will be accompanied on their culinary journey by a chef mentor.
The final stop will be the ultimate occasion, the opportunity to cook on the international platform of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 Grand Finale in Milan, where a top chef jury, known as the Seven Sages, will crown the best young chef in the world.
