Pizza-mad Californians have just broken the world record for the longest ever pizza, creating a simple cheese and tomato pie measuring close to two kilometeres.
The feat was achieved by over 100 volunteer chefs in Fontana, California on 10 June, using over three and a half tonnes of dough, a ton and a half of cheese, and over two and a half tonnes of sauce, the Hindustan Times reports. The total length was 1930 metres.
The pizza was fed along a conveyor belt through ovens for eight hours. It was later donated to homeless shleters and food banks.
It beats the previous record of 1853 metres set in Naples in 2016. Watch some of the action below.
